In addition, this is the extremely rare overprint variety, with the "Factory No. 3, Dist. of LA." overprinted with black, and "Factory No. 8. Dist. of LA." added above. "Factory No. 8" overprint backs are particularly rare for this issue and one of the extreme rarity variations of all tobacco cards. Similar in design and poses as the T206 tobacco set, T213 Type 3 was issued exclusively in the Louisiana area, and are normally much thinner than its more abundant counterparts. In addition, since the T213 set was issued in 1919, it was the very last of the traditional tobacco card sets. This is a very strong example, which appears to be in much higher grade than the assigned technical grade of SGC 35 GOOD+ 2.5. This example has very strong corners with light touches, contains extremely bright colors, is well-focused with four very even borders. The reverse is clean with just a touch of light print near the top. T213 Type 3 Coupons are much more rare than similar T206 cards, and some of the most overlooked of all tobacco card issues. These cards are so rare, there have only been 60 total T213 Type 3 Coupon cigarette cards graded by SGC, including 15 Cobb examples. However, it is not clear how many are of the very scarce "Factory No. 8" overprint backs, but our research has indicated only one other known example with this factory overprint. SGC Graded 35 GOOD+ 2.5.
