2007 was Sammy Sosa’s final Major League season, and it was the year he joined the 600 Home Run Club. The big slugger from San Pedro de Macoris hit 21 home runs in his final season, knocking in 92 runs. He finished his career with 609 round trippers, good for eighth on the all-time list. Prior to the start of the season, Sosa used this Crown Bats CB-S.S. model bat during a spring training game on March 21st and has been photo matched by PSA/DNA. This bat displays outstanding game use and has a crack on the handle. There are ball marks, blue ink transfers and black marks present on the barrel. The handle has a coating of pine tar and the knob has been heavily taped in a ball fashion, along with a heavily taped section of the mid-handle. Sosa has added his signature in blue pen across the sweet spot and inscribed “#21” above and “609 HRs” below his signature. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B24201), who have photo matched this bat to the March 21st, 2007 game and have given this bat a very high grade of GU 9. Additionally, there is a STICKER ONLY from Beckett Authentication (WC31079), who had a representative witness Sosa signing and inscribing this bat.
