"Captain Nice" was a study in curiosity. Imagine, a super-hero who fought the forces of evil and flew (reluctantly) while wearing a pajama-like costume sewn by his mother! The entertaining but short-lived television program, spoofing super-hero shows in the same fashion as Get Smart!, lampooned secret agents, and inspired an even more abbreviated card series from Topps. The rare cards from that test issue (themselves unusual, with black-and-white cardfronts and colored backs) are almost never seen in the hobby. Offered here is a truly unique relic from this fascinating product. This fascinating item demonstrates the issue's lavish use of color on the series' cardbacks (as well as its sparing employment on the fronts), and its design and preservation will bring delight to the vast majority of hobbyists who have never had the opportunity to view a single specimen.
