Graded EX 5 by PSA. Among a total of more than 165 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, fewer than one-third have attained a higher, unqualified tier. R.L. Caruthers' 30-14 record, accomplished the year before the release of Allen & Ginter's tobacco-insert tribute to "The World's Champions," helped lead his team, in fact, to a World Championship. ("Parisian Bob" would also author two 40-win campaigns during his career.) The period star's success is fittingly commemorated by this appealing and particularly condition-scarce survivor. Gorgeous Lindner, Eddy & Clauss lithography decorates the item's cardfront, and the sublime image has retained full depth of color. Its bright white surround concedes only mild to moderate wear at the corners, and the reverse presents a full and clean checklist of all fifty "Champions." Excellent condition.
