Presented is a 1937 Clark Gable signed cut.  The Oscar-winning star signed his name in broad gray graphite pencil on a 4 ½ x 6-inch white cut from an autograph book and embellished his signature with an elaborate “C” and “G”, as well as a line below his signature. The cut is inscribed in blue fountain pen in the upper left “Clark Gable” and inscribed in gray graphite pencil in the upper right “June 12-1937-June”. There is an unrelated signature and inscription on the reverse. The Gable-signed cut has three small binding holes at the left edge, but is otherwise free of defect. Often referred to as "The King of Hollywood", Gable had roles in more than 60 motion pictures in multiple genres during a career that lasted 37 years, three decades of which was as a leading man. Notable films included “Gone with the Wind”, “San Francisco”, “Mutiny on the Bounty” and “It Happened One Night”, for which he won the Academy Award as Best Actor in 1934. This item comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication.
