Offered is a lot of four circa 1970 “Andy Capp” comic strip original printing plates. “Andy Capp” is an English comic strip created by cartoonist Reg Smythe, seen in Britain’s The Daily Mirror and The Sunday Mirror newspapers since August 5, 1957. Originally a single-panel cartoon, it was later expanded to four panels. The strip is syndicated internationally by Creators Syndicate. The four silver metal plates, each measuring 2 x 7-inches, each feature four panels etched in blue. The strips are each copyrighted 1974, and are dated “5-20”, “6-4”, “6-25”, and “6-26”. Each of the four plates has green enamel on the reverse with two tape remnants on each.
