This comprehensive display focuses on one goal of Gretzky’s 894 career total. On March 19, 1983 The Great One scored one goal in the 9-7 Oilers win over the Red Wings. It was his 65th of the 82-83 season and his 264th career goal, and that very puck is proudly mounted in this piece. The puck shows great game use with many scuffs and scratches accumulated during the game. The top surface carries the Edmonton Oilers logo, the team with which Gretzky had his finest seasons. A large print of the young phenom scoring the goal is prominently mounted to the left of the puck and three collectors pins (NHL, Oilers and Red Wings) are mounted below the puck. A tasteful brass plaque describing game particulars and the significance of the game used puck is mounted next to the action shot. The piece is mounted in a wooden frame which has condition issues consisting of scratches and much surface wear to the wood. The 2-colored matte also has some wear to it and the action shot of the game has some dings to the surface. If desired, these issues can be taken care of easily by simply re-mounting the display. A nicely done piece dating from Gretzky’s prime years in the NHL.
