Presented is a lot of two U.S. First Lady signed items including Eleanor Roosevelt and Mamie Eisenhower. The first item in this lot is a Mamie Doud Eisenhower signature in black marker on a U.S. Postal Service First Day Cover of the President Dwight D. Eisenhower commemorative postage stamp. The widow of the late 34th president signed her name in the upper left corner of the 3½ x 6½-inch ivory envelope, which features a black ink reproduction photograph of Pres. Eisenhower in the left and the legend “First Day of Issue 6c 34th President of the United States Dwight D. Eisenhower Regular Issue Series of 1970” in black type. The logo “Art Craft” is in the lower left corner. The 6-cent postage stamp is in the upper right, with an August 6, 1970 Washington, D.C. “First Day of Issue” postmark in black. The second item in this lot is an Eleanor Roosevelt signature in gray graphite pencil on the reverse of a 4 x 5-inch ivory cardstock invitation. The front of the card is printed in black type with the message, “Kenosha Teachers Union requests your presence at a reception in honor of Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt K.Y.F. Blue Room Immediately Following the Lecture Thursday Evening, November 14, 1940 Informal Please present this card”. The card has four glue marks in the four corners of the front side from where the Eleanor Roosevelt signature was posted into a book. This lot has been pre-certified by Beckett Authentication.
