A presidential impeachment is a rare event, with only three 20th century presidents subjected to the proceedings. The first, Richard Nixon, resigned rather than face impeachment, while the dual impeachment charges against Bill Clinton and more recently, Donald Trump, failed to stick as both were acquitted by the Senate. Offered here is a ticket is for the 1999 impeachment trial of the 42nd President of the United States William Jefferson Clinton. It is for the date of “JAN 19th, 1999” which is stamped in blue on the date box and it admitted the bearer to the Senate gallery. “106th CONGRESS-FIRST SESSION United States Senate Impeachment Trial of the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES” is printed in black across the front.
