A gallery of four complete sets plus variation cards – for a total of 161 different pieces – is presented. These playing card-style collectibles feature color-photo images of popular dog breeds; backs carry information about the pictured canine type. The cards' subject material – comprised of nearly identical content and shared photos – was issued with at least four different products from 1949 through 1957. The array is quite tough to assemble, and this group includes holds nearly all variations that have been confirmed to exist. Includes:

1949 F279-5 Quaker Oats "Dog Cards/Challenge of the Yukon" (35) - complete set of 35 cards. This set was issued to complement Quaker's "Sgt. Preston" promotion; one dog picture included in this production represents a copyrighted character, "Yukon King," a canine identified as "Eskimo Dog" in the other issues;

1955 R760 Peter Paul "Dog Cards" (36) - complete set of 36 cards. This is one of two issues that includes an "English Setter" entry;

1957 D101 Langendorf Cookies "Champion Dog Trading Cards" (36) - complete set of 36 cards. This is one of two issues that includes an "English Setter" entry;

1950s F214 Orange-Crush "Dogs" (46) - complete set of 35 cards, plus 11 Blue Corner variation cards. For reasons that remain speculative, these cards are sometimes seen with a blue-colored wedge at the front's bottom right. The complete set presented here includes three Blue Corners (Collie, Otterhound, Pomeranian), and eleven additional Blue Corner variation cards accompany;

1950s Anon. "Dog Trading Cards" Blank Backs (8) - Although they share identical pictures with the other releases, these collectibles have no printing on the backs. It's probable that they were created for packaging with cards of other topics in small boxes of generic "Trading Cards" that were briefly popular during the early 1950s.

Condition range is primarily EX to NM or finer (with a few lesser-quality "filler" examples, mostly among the scarce variations).

1949-57 "F," "D" and "R" Dog Trading Cards Near Master Set (161 Cards)
