2020 Late December Auction Closing January 3

This very scarce counter-sales box, showing George Washington being relieved of a mustache-and-glasses "disguise" on its lid, once housed two dozen five-cent wax packs of Topps' 1967 "Who Am I?" trading cards. Forty-four famous persons (including baseball players Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Babe Ruth and Sandy Koufax) underwent the humorous ignominy of concealment on those unusual cards, and collateral material from the production is almost never encountered in the modern hobby. The offered (empty) display box, measuring 8" x 3-3/4" x 1-1/2", has been somewhat battered through decades of handling, but it retains tremendous visual appeal. A highly elusive, aesthetically charming container!
