Prior to the 1984 season, Cal Ripken, Jr. signed a $1 million contract, becoming the youngest player in the history of the Orioles franchise to make that milestone amount. The All-Star shortstop was worth every penny as he hit .304 with 27 home runs, and 86 RBIs that year while setting an American League record with 583 assists. This Rawlings CR8 Model bat dates to that million-dollar 1984 season.

Ripken’s 1984 Rawlings CR8 model bat displays outstanding game use and has a crack in the handle. There are ball marks, blue ink transfers, white leather scuffs and slight checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact that is present on the barrel. The lower handle by the knob has a white label that has handwritten in blue marker “#104 Cal Ripken Jr.” Ripken’s number “8” has been handwritten in black marker on the knob and Ripken has signed this bat in silver marker on the barrel and inscribed above his name ““My Gamer” 1984”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B04361) for the game use and has been given the highest possible grade of GU 10, plus a LOA from JSA (B84343” for his signature and inscription.
