Mantle helped lead the Bronx Bombers to 12 American League pennants and seven World Series titles. His 18 home runs in World Series play still stands as a record. Mantle was voted the American League's most valuable player three times, in 1956, 1957 and 1962, and finished his career with 536 regular season home runs. When he retired, he was third on the all-time home run list, behind Babe Ruth and Willie Mays. He hit more than .300 five straight years and hit a career high of .365 in 1957.
