Los Angeles Dodgers’ ace Clayton Kershaw finished the 2009 season with a 16-5 record, a 3.03 ERA and 189 strikeouts in 178 1/3 innings pitched. One of those strikeouts came while throwing this Official Major League Robert D. Manfred, Jr. stamped baseball past Eduardo Escobar of the Arizona Diamondbacks during the August 31, 2019 game in Phoenix. Kershaw struck out Escobar with a 4-seam fastball and then threw a curveball in the dirt on the first pitch to Christian Walker and this ball was then taken out of play. This ball displays outstanding game use with a noticeable dirt stain covering the edges of two panels that are separated by the red stitching. This ball comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JC310487), authenticating the two pitches Clayton Kershaw threw with this ball during the August 31st, 2019 game.
