Offered is a 1977 Tom Gola National Polish American Sports Hall of Fame plaque presented to the Hall of Fame LaSalle University, Philadelphia/San Francisco Warriors and New York Knicks legend. The 1 x 15 x 22-inch brown wood plaque features raised gold metal letters, a gold metal engraving of a black & white head & shoulder portrait of Gola, and a raised gold plastic basketball and basket. The legend on the plaque, in raised gold metal letters, reads “National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame” across the top, above the photo of Gola in a dark suit, light shirt, and dark tie in partial profile from the left at the center. The legend “June 24, 1977” are in raised gold metal letters and numbers vertically positioned on either side of the photo. (Please note the final “7” in “1977” is loose from the plaque.) The bottom half of the plaque features the legend “Thomas J. Gola Four Time La Salle College All American Set Nat’l Scoring, Rebound Records College Hall of Fame Member. Player of Year 1954, NBA All Pro Team 5 Yrs.” Gola was the third of seven children born to Ike and Helen Gola. Gola's father was a Philadelphia policeman of Polish descent who had changed the family's surname from "Galinsky".  This item comes with a LOA from the Gola family.
