Presented is a lot of four Tom Gola Philadelphia pro basketball sports items from his career with the NBA’s Philadelphia Warriors in the late 1950s. The first item in this lot is a resin statue of former Philadelphia basketball legend Wilt Chamberlain holding up a piece of paper with the number “100” on it while sitting in his Philadelphia uniform on a folding chair. The statue commemorates the night Chamberlain set the NBA single-game scoring record by scoring 100 points for the Philadelphia Warriors in a 169–147 win over the New York Knicks on March 2, 1962, at Hershey Sports Arena in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Gola was a teammate of Chamberlain’s in Philadelphia from 1955-1962. The 4 x 6-inch figure sits on a ½ x 3 x 4-inch base, engraved in script with the legend “Wilt Chamberlain” on the front and the logo of The History Channel on the top. Please note that the “100” sign is loose from the figure. The second item in this lot is a 1 x 12 x 15-inch wood plaque with the image of the basketball court of the Philadelphia Spectrum arena on the top center in red, white, blue, black, brown, orange and green. Below the image is a 2 x 5-inch gold metal plaque engraved in black with the caption, “Tom Gola Philadelphia Warriors 1955-62”. The bottom left is inscribed with the black logo “A Final Tribute 1967-1996 CoreStates Spectrum April 17-19, 1996” and at the bottom right with the black inscribed image of the Spectrum’s exterior and the legend “1967-1996”. Please note that the bottom center of the plaque is warped. The third item in this lot is a 1 x 9 x 11-inch brown wood and silver metal award. At the top center of the award is a 2¼ x 2¼-inch silver metal plaque engraved in red with the logo of the Philadelphia Warriors. At the lower center is a 6 x 6½-inch silver and black metal plaque engraved with the legend “Tom Gola Philadelphia Warriors 1955-56 NBA Champions 20th Anniversary Presented by the 76ers April 7, 1976 The Spectrum” in silver on black. To the right of the inscription is a black & white photo of Gola. IN the lower left and lower center are silver engravings of the 76ers logo. The fourth item in this lot is a 1 x 8 x 10-inch brown wood and silver metal trophy featuring a 4¾ x 6½-inch blue metal plaque engraved with the legend “Presented to Tom Gola in Appreciation of your Participation in the 76ers Schick Legends Game on March 26, 1986” above a silver plastic basketball going into a hoop at the bottom center. This lot comes with a LOA from the Gola family.
