Offered in this lot is a circa 1980’s Los Angeles Kings jersey signed by “The Great One” Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky joined Los Angeles in a blockbuster deal in 1988, leaving Edmonton for the first time in his NHL career. Gretzky led the NHL in assists five times in his seven full seasons with Los Angeles as the Kings brought hockey relevance to Southern California. Gretzky played with the Kings from 1988 until a trade in the 1995-96 season sent Gretzky to St. Louis. The Brantford, Ontario native was inducted into the International Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in 1999. Gretzky has signed the chest of this white Kings jersey in black marker. The jersey is displayed in a frame and comes with pre-certification from Beckett Authentication Services.
