Pete Rose, the all-time leader in hits, edged ever so close to the 2,000-hit mark on June 19, 1973 when he hit this offered baseball for career hit number 1,999 at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. The ball is an Official National League Charles S. Feeney stamped ball that has been marked in black marker on the south panel with “HIT 1999 6/19/73 SF” in an unknown hand. Rose has signed his name on the side panel in bold black marker. This ball displays excellent game use with dirt stains and other markings. This ball comes with a LOA from MEARS (317689) for the game use and a LOA  Beckett Authentication (A32751) for Rose’s signature. Please note that Beckett determined that the inscription on this ball was written in an unknown hand.
