Based on the 1962 novel of the same name “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest”, a Broadway play opened in 1963 starring the late legendary actor Kirk Douglas as the seminal character Randle Patrick McMurphy. The play also starred Gene Wilder as Billy Bibbit, William Daniels as Harding, Ed Ames as “Chief” Bromden and Joan Tetzel as Nurse Ratched. After the play version concluded on Broadway in 1964, Kirk Douglas would retain the rights of a planned film version, which he would eventually turn over to his son Michael who produced the 1975 film that starred Jack Nicholson. Offered here is a signed playbill by star Kirk Douglas from the “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest” play at the Cort Theatre. The front of this playbill has a black and white photo of Douglas with “ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST” printed in white on the lower left corner. Douglas has signed his name in blue pen on the upper left next to his image. This play bill displays wear, with the upper left corner frayed and the lower left corner with a tear. There is also edge and corner wear. This comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication for Douglas’ signature.
