New York Yankees ace Masahiro Tanaka was issued this gray Yankees road jersey in 2014, his first season in the Major Leagues after seven wonderful seasons spent with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles in Japan. Tanaka went 24-0 in his final season in Japan with a 1.87 ERA to win his second Eiji Sawamura Award as Japan’s best pitcher. In his rookie MLB season of 2014, Tanaka replicated his success with an excellent 13-5 record and 2.77 ERA. Tanaka made the first All-Star team of his career in 2014 as the Yankees won 84 games to finish second in the American League East Division.
This offered Yankees jersey is a gray button-down, with “NEW YORK” sewn across the chest in navy and white tackle twill. Tanaka’s number “19” is sewn on the back of the jersey, also in navy and white tackle twill. A MLB logo patch is sewn on the back outside collar, while a Majestic size “52” tag is applied to the front left tail over a Yankees barcode tag. The jersey comes with a LOA from noted baseball game used jersey expert William Henderson.
