In 1983, Jim Connors, John McEnroe and Ivan Lendl traded the No. 1 ranking several times with Connors winning the US Open for a record fifth time (beating Lendl in the final) and finishing the year as the No. 3 ranked player.  The offered racquet was used by Jimmy Connors during his play at the US Open from 1982-83.  The racquet has been stripped to the essential elements as Jimmy frequently changed his strings and grips. The Aluminum Racquet shows some grip tape on the sides and has remnants of the nylon strings in the face.  Accompanying the racket is Connors customary blue and white sweatband that was also worn in the 1983 US Open.  The band shows excellent use.  Both items come with a signed letter of provenance from Doug Henderson, Connors manager.
