Before Ichiro Suzuki was a 3,000 Hit Club member and American League MVP, he played in NPB for the Orix Blue Wave. Over his seven full seasons in Japan, Ichiro was one of the brightest stars in the league, consistently hitting for a batting average in the high .300s. In 1994, at the tender age of 20, Ichiro became the first player to accrue over 200 hits in a season, hitting 210 in only 130 games. A three-time MVP in NPB, Ichiro led the Blue Wave to the 1996 Japan Series championship. Offered here is a blue Orix Blue Wave helmet that has been signed by Ichiro in silver marker on the back crown. Ichiro inscribed “96.9.23” to the right of his signature. This comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication for Ichiro’s signature.
