Offered is 1955 Tom Gola President’s Award to the Outstanding Athlete of LaSalle College trophy. The 21-inch-- high gold metal and brown wood trophy is capped with a 7½-inch gold metal figure of a basketball player with his right arm raised above his head holding a basketball. That statue is set atop a 2½-inch gold metal world globe with a 2-inch gold metal pedestal. (Please note that the top gold metal figure is broken off the trophy but included with the item, and the globe is loosely attached.) The statue, globe and pedestal are mounted on top of a 1 x 5 x 5-inch brown wood platform, with a ¾ x 4½-inch gold metal plaque engraved with the legend “President’s Award” on the front. Below this pedestal are four 6 ½-inch gold metal columns with a 5-inch gold metal figure of an angel with arms upraised holding a laurel wreath at the center of a second 1 x 5 x 5-inch brown wood platform. On the front of that platform is a ¾ x 4½-inch gold metal plaque engraved with the legend “To the Outstanding Athlete of La Salle College – 1955 Tom Gola”. The trophy rests on a 1¼ x 6½ x 6½-inch brown wood base. This item comes with a LOA from the Gola family.
