Presented is a pair of Jerry Sloan Chicago Bulls team-issued Converse All-Star white sneakers in the original box. The white canvas, size 14½ sneakers feature white rubber toe and heel and a brown rubber sole, with red and blue piping along the bottom edge of each shoe. The red, white and blue silk-screened “Converse All Star Chuck Taylor” logo is on the inner flap of each of the high-top shoes, with blue rubber logo repeated on each heel. The sneakers have white laces, with some mildew stains on the canvas uppers. The shoes are accompanied by a sheet of white tissue paper inside the original 4¾ x 5½ x 14¼-inch cardboard box with mid-1970s Converse branding on the 1¾ x 5½ x 14½-inch lid reversed-out in white on red. The box is inscribed “Jerry Sloan 14½” in black marker on one edge. After playing college basketball with the Evansville Purple Aces, Sloan was selected by the Baltimore Bullets with the fourth overall pick of the 1965 NBA draft. He spent his rookie season with the Bullets before playing the remainder of his career with the Chicago Bulls, retiring due to injuries in 1976. Nicknamed "the Original Bull", he was a two-time NBA All-Star and the first player to have his number retired by the Bulls. This item comes with a LOA from Sloan.
