The Yankees were 7.5 games out of first early in the 2005 season when they summoned young second baseman Robinson Cano to the major leagues. In a lineup full of veteran talent, he was the kid who helped provide the necessary spark. Based upon factory ordering records, the labeling period and player use characteristics, Cano used this particular bat during his rookie season. This 34.5 inch, 32.2 ounce Rawlings 456B block letter model bat shows evidence of outstanding use with an upper handle crack, ball and stitch marks, including several blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs. In addition, cleat marks, racks streaks and a moderate coating of pine tar adorn the bat. Stamped on the knob is the model number (456B), order number (721) and the year (05), with Cano's number "22" in black marker plus a "Cano Authenticated 22" sticker. The sweet spot contains a bold, silver sharpie "Rob Cano" signature. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, cert number D63054 for the bat, graded PSA GU 9; and full LOA from PSA/DNA, cert number for the signature. This is a tremendous game used and signed bat from Robinson Cano's rookie season.
