Koufax enjoyed perhaps the best six-season stretch of any pitcher between 1961 and his retirement after the 1966 season, winning three Cy Young Awards and the 1963 National League Most Valuable Player trophy in that time period. Koufax recorded an ERA under 2.00 three times in his career, ending his legendary run in Major League Baseball with a 165-87 record and 2.76 ERA.
