Offered here is an original photograph taken by renowned photographer Carl Horner of Hall of Famer Jimmy Collins in 1906. This photograph was used for the 1906 Fan Craze A.L. Jimmy Collins card. This 3 x 5-inch black and white photo was placed on a 4 ½ x 6 ½ inch now cream-colored stock card that is encased in an 8 x 10-inch clear plastic holder. The photograph itself was cutoff by Collins left side of the face and ear and what would have been the full picture was hand drawn in on pencil on the stock. “Jimmy Collins” is handwritten in pencil below the image, along with “CH” for Carl Horner and markings “SPTS-FRI.”. A white label is printed on the white border that reads “JIMMY COLLINS 1870 – 1943 BHOF INDUCTED 1945 ORIGINAL CARL HORNER (1864 – 1926) PHOTO SPORTING NEWS 1906”.
