No matter what level you play the great game of baseball on, the goal is to win the game and eventually the championship. In the early days of baseball, winning teams received the games baseball, which they had bronzed and mounted in their clubhouse. Eventually, teams began receiving championship cups and trophies. This 12.75 inch high trophy was presented for the "MONTCALM COUNTY ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP." It appears two towns, Lakeview, MI and Edmore, MI, dominated the early championships, as they are the only two schools listed. The lowest part of the metal contains etchings of "LAKEVIEW" with the years "1932 1934 1935" below. Just to their right is "EDMORE" with the sole year of "1933" listed underneath. The top features a pitcher with a raised baseball display below complete with crossed bats, flanked by two baseballs, with a catcher mask and mitt top and bottom. Despite its age, this championship trophy is in excellent condition with minimal tarnishing, and with all etching and visual aspects still as they were when produced almost 80 years ago. Inside the base is the "WALLACE TROPHY" manufacturers tag. Be rest assured these ball players played their hearts out for this award, something the winning bidder will likely also accomplish. A tremendous figural baseball championship trophy. Excellent condition.
