Graded NM 7 by PSA. Hall of Famer, in an enviable Rookie Card depiction. Among a total of more than 1,400 copies recorded in PSA’s census reporting, fewer than four percent have been placed at a higher, unqualified tier. Jackie Robinson was one of the most memorable figures ever associated with the game, and inspiring stories, in abundance, exist about all facets of Robinson's career. The pioneer's rookie cards are viewed as important cornerstones in any accomplished card collection. One of Robinson's debut pieces is among the keys in the intriguing baseball series produced by Leaf Gum Co. in 1948-49, a notably scarce post-war issue. The offered example of that seldom-seen treasure will fit nicely into any thoughtfully assembled, nostalgic gallery. All four of its corners are well-formed and sharply pointed, and the card's image projects a joyous display of bright hues. The reverse-side text is boldly printed on the issue's grey-colored cardstock, and two small specks of discoloration on the back's surface are barely visible. A significant, sought-after card, in captivating Near Mint condition.

Please Note: Due to the value and importance of the historically formidable piece, this card was recently reviewed by PSA and placed in a new holder equipped with the industry's most modern security protections.
