Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr.’s penultimate season in the Major League concluded on October 1st, 2000 when the Baltimore Orioles defeated the New York Yankees 7-3 at Camden Yards. Ripken closed out his season in style, going 1-for-3 with 2 runs scored, an RBI and a walk to help lead the O’s to victory. Ripken would finish the 2000 season with 15 home runs, 56 RBI and a .256 average. Offered here is the very Orioles cap used by Ripken on October 1, 2000 against the Yankees.

This all-black cap was manufactured by New Era and is a size 7 3/8. The front has the Orioles oriole bird logo embroidered in orange, black and white. The back of the hat has the MLB logo embroidered in Orioles colors. The underside of the brim is gray and the Diamond Collection, NEW ERA and size 7 3/8 tags are sewn on the white inside sweatband. This hat displays solid game use with sweat stains on the outside back crown. Ripken has signed his name in bold silver marker on the top brim and this comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and a LOA from Cal will accompany this cap.
