“Donnie Baseball” was hitting the ball at a .300 clip throughout the summers of ‘88 and ‘89. The best player on the Yankees during the team’s lean years, Mattingly’s Hall of Fame-worthy career gave New York's fans something to cheer about before the Yankees late 1990’s resurgence. The 34 inch, 28.7 ounce Louisville Slugger M1728 signature bat shows excellent use and is uncracked. Several ball marks and stitch impressions can be seen on the barrel as are ball marks with blue ink transfers. Blue and red bat rack streaks are visible and a moderate coat of pine tar coats the handle. Mattingly has signed the barrel in blue marker and JSA has affixed sticker number J28240 to the knob end. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat GU 8.
