Mahomes, the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, served as Alex Smith’s backup in his rookie season, before erupting for a 5,097 yard, 50 touchdown performance in 2018 to win the NFL Most Valuable Player trophy. Not content with individual accolades, Mahomes led the Chiefs to the Super Bowl LIV title, winning the Super Bowl MVP trophy in the process, with a thrilling comeback victory against the San Francisco 49ers.
