Great bat from Sheff's time with the Yankees which can not only be certified as "game used", but pinpointed to the August 17, 2005 game in which this very bat was used by him to hit the 441st of his 509 career home runs. Sheff's Rawlings 170B bat shows outstanding use and is uncracked. Many ball marks and stitch impressions can be seen on the barrel as well as white leather ball scuffs and blue ink transfers. Cleat imprints are visible on the barrel. A moderate coat of pine tar coats the handle and the lower handle and knob has been taped in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip. Sheffield has signed the barrel in contrasting silver marker and added "Career Home Run #441 vs. Tampa Bay Devil Rays 8/17/05 Pitcher Mike Hendrickson". Letter of Authentication from PSA/DNA who have graded this unique bat GU 10.
