Dennis Eckersley, one of the best relief pitchers Major League Baseball has ever seen, earned his way into the Hall of Fame after capturing the AL MVP and Cy Young awards in 1992 before finishing his career sixth on the all-time saves lists with 390. “Eck” actually broke into the league as a starting pitcher with the Cleveland Indians in 1975, staying in that role for three years before the right-hander moved on to Boston. This rare, navy blue pullover Cleveland Indians home jersey was worn by Eckersley is a 1976 campaign that saw the pitcher post a 13-12 record with nine complete games and a 3.43 ERA. The jersey features Eckersley’s signature in bold, blue ink on the “3” on the back of his number “37” jersey. “INDIANS” appears across the chest of the jersey while Eckersley’s number “37” appears on the back in white-on-red tackle twill. “ECKERSLEY” appears across the back of the jersey in white tackle twill. The jersey features an Indians logo patch on the left sleeve and “Cleveland Spirit of ‘76” shield patch on the right sleeve. The inside collar of the jersey features a “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with size “42.” The jersey comes with an LOA from MEARS, grading A10, while the signature comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA.
