In the early 1990’s, the Los Angeles Dodgers began a five-season run where they had a National League Rookie of the Year. The first was in 1992 with Eric Karros and 1993 was Hall of Famer Mike Piazza. In 1994, Raul Mondesi kept the Rookie of the Year torch burning. In the 112-game strike-shortened season, Mondesi hit 16 home runs and had 56 RBI with a healthy .306 average. Mondesi made his debut during the 1993 season and appeared in 42 games. It would be a precursor to his breakout 1994 season as he hit 4 home runs and had 10 RBI in the limited duty, while also maintaining a solid .291 average.

Offered here is a home white button-down Los Angeles Dodgers jersey worn by Mondesi during his debut season of 1993. This jersey was manufactured by Rawlings and is a size 48. “Dodgers” and a paraph are sewn on across the chest in blue tackle twill. Mondesi’s number “43” is sewn on in red tackle twill below. The red Rawlings size 48 tag with a “T” patch and “SET 2 1992” flag is sewn on back center tail. The back has “MONDESI” and “43” sewn on in blue-on-white tackle twill. This jersey has special patches that were worn following the 1993 season when the Dodgers traveled to Taipei, Taiwan and Japan in late October and early November. The left sleeve has a “1993 Dodgers FRIENSHIP SERIES Daiei Hawks” patch and the right sleeve has a black patch “IKE” in white. This jersey shows moderate use with some slight toning and comes with a LOA from Bob Case, who was the manager of late Casey Stengel and acquired this jersey during his time in baseball.
