One of the game’s most popular stars and a first ballot Hall of Famer, Roberto Clemente’s signature is one of the most desired in the hobby. His tragic death in 1972 has made any Clemente autograph noteworthy and this one, on a collector’s 3” x 5” index card is a very attractive example. Inked in black ballpoint, Clemente’s flowing and instantly distinctive script pops off the surface of the card. The top of the card has a pre-printed “For The Autograph Collection of Dr. John Davis, Jr.” and the reverse has “Roberto Clemente” added in pencil by the collector. This rare signature from Puerto Rico’s greatest star has been encapsulated and graded a perfect Gem Mint 10 by PSA/DNA.
