Dr. J, a three-time ABA and NBA champion, was the original high-flyer who paved the way for some of the acrobatic acts you see from players in the league today. The Hall of Fame forward, who became the face of the Philadelphia 76ers starting in the late 1970s, averaged 24.2 points per game over his career and is sixth all-time in scoring with 30,026 points. These iconic white-and-red leather Converse All-Stars were worn by Erving at some point between the 1976 and 1983 seasons, and feature “DR J” branded in red on the outside of both sneakers. The tongues of both sneakers have stitched “CONVERSE ALL STAR” tags. Size “15 ½” is found on the inside of both shoes, which show evident signs game use, including creases in the toe and scuffing. The sneakers come with an LOA from Mears Memorabilia Evaluation and Research Services.
