Cristiano Ronaldo announced his presence in the Portuguese Primeira Liga with a pair of goals against Moreirense in his professional debut for Sporting CP. The flashy winger dazzled in his lone season in Portugal’s top flight, earning the admiration of Sir Alex Ferguson and a subsequent move to Manchester United in 2003-04, where the legend of “CR7” was actualized. Offered in this lot are six unopened packs of Panini “Mega Craques” cards from 2002-03, manufactured in Italy and distributed in Portugal, as well as a bonus pack from the 2004-05 season! Ronaldo, looking magnificent with his frosted tips and horizontally-striped Sporting kit, stands out on the front of the packs next to Porto and Barcelona icon Deco. Rare Ronaldo rookie cards possibly reside in the 2002-03 packs, while additional greats in the 2002-03 set include Deco, Ricardo Rocha, Ricardo Quaresma, and more. Several Portuguese footballers playing elsewhere in Europe, such as Luis Figo and Abel Xavier, are also included in this wonderful “Mega Craques” edition. Each pack contains six trading cards and is unopened.
