This exciting case consists of 20 unopened and complete West series wax boxes, with each box containing 36 sealed and intact 30¢ never touched wax packs from Topps' 1981-82 basketball card release. The set consists of 198 cards in total, with 66 cards (including the first stand-alone cards of Hall of Famers Magic Johnson and Larry Bird) released country wide as part of the series' National segment. The set's remaining 132 cards were put out regionally, in 44-card East, Midwest and West groups. The 20 boxes offered here incubate a mixture of cards from the National and West components which include the highly desirable Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul Jabbar Super action cards. A Magic Johnson in a PSA 10 was just sold for $59k and this case holds approximately 60 Bird, 60 Magic base and 60 Magic Super Action cards. The packs remain undisturbed in their original wax boxes, which themselves reflect a bare minimum of routine wear from past handling. All 20 wax boxes are authenticated as “West Series” and individually protected and securely sealed by "Baseball Card Exchange" plastic wrapping. The boxes' original cardboard case holds and accompanies the 20 wax boxes.
