The commerce of the Roman Empire was a major sector of the Roman economy during the early Republic and throughout most of the imperial period. Romans were businessmen and the longevity of their empire was due to their commercial trade.
The main international commerce took place between India and the Roman Empire where spices such as pepper, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, sandal wood and gems such as pearls, rubies, diamonds, emeralds and ivory were exchanged with the Romans for silver, gold and Roman coins. This incredible lot brings one back to approximately 200-300 AD at the marketplace. Consisting of ten pieces of Bronze, the coins range from circa 200 AD to 300 AD one can relive the history of the empire with these artifacts that are nearly 1800 years old!
