After tearing up the International League pitching for the first few weeks of the 2012 season, the Nationals called up 19-year-old Bryce Harper to The Show. Harper quickly established himself as the best young player in the National League and by July had managed to get himself voted onto the All-Star team – quite an honor for a rookie who did not start the season in the majors. Harper went on to set the record for most total bases and extra base hits by a teenager and his 22 home runs, 99 RBI, .477 slugging percentage earned him the Rookie of the Year Award. Inspired by the play of this talented young teenager, the Nationals won their first division title.

Harper’s 2012 Louisville Slugger I13L model bat shows excellent use and is un-cracked. There are bat rack streaks and some minor cleat imprints on the barrel. The lower handle and knob have been taped in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip and a light coat of pine tar is found on the handle. The date of manufacture “04/03/12”, “VM” and the length/weight “34.0/32.0” are stamped into the knob end. There is a mark on the handle that identifies the grain, which has been mandatory per Major League Baseball for all maple bats since 2009. This complete Bryce Harper gamer from one of the best contemporary sluggers in the National League comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (1B25225).
