Former Kansas City Royal Mike Moustakas broke Steve Balboni’s longstanding single-season Royals home run record in 2017, when he connected on his 31st homer of the season in the eighth inning of the Royals 8-7 loss on August 16th. Moustakas finished the season with 38 home runs in 2017, breaking Balboni’s record of 35 set back in 1985. There are ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs present on the barrel. There is a light coating of pine tar on the upper handle up to the trademark and a heavy coating of Mota stick on the lower handle. The knob has the bat’s manufacture date “09/12/17”, “MOOSE” and the order number “1047-17” stamped. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B24041) for the game use and has been given the highest possible grade of GU 10.
