Presented here is a pair of Nike Zoom Kobe V sneakers signed by the late Los Angeles Laker and 2021 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Kobe Bryant. Bryant signed an endorsement deal with Nike after spending the beginning of his career with Adidas, and his Nike Zoom line of sneakers first debuted in March of 2005. The Eric Avar-designed sneakers feature Nike Flywire, a thread composed of Vectran or nylon and used to make the sneaker lighter without sacrificing support. The Zoom Kobe V sneakers made their debut on Christmas Day in 2009. Bryant wore them during the 2009-10 season that saw the Lakers win their second consecutive NBA title where they defeated the Boston Celtics 4-3, with Bryant earning his second straight NBA Finals MVP award. The size 15 sneakers feature a black and yellow colorway and feature the iconic Nike "Swoosh" in white with gold trim on the sneakers' instep and outstep. The black and white laces rest upon a tongue with a "Sheath," Bryant's logo named for the resemblance to the sheath of a samurai sword, on the top of the tongue in gold. Each sneaker's mudguard is white with speckled black paint and features the facsimile signature of Bryant on each heel in gold. The sneaker's soles feature the "Sheath" logo on gold, black, and white rubber soles.  Bryant signed the toe box of the left sneaker with a silver metallic paint pen. The black patent leather shows some wear, and there is a stain on the outer mudguard on the right sneaker. The signed pair of Nike Zoom Kobe V sneakers come with a COA from Panini.
