Presented here is a jumbo Franklin New York Mets baseball signed by 29 players from the Mets teams in the 1980s and 1990s. “NEW YORK METS FRANKLIN” is stamped in black on the east panel of the jumbo baseball. There are 29 signatures in black marker on the baseball with notable signatures from former Mets pitcher David Cone. Cone was the two-time MLB strikeout leader and earned one All-Star selection while playing with the Mets from 1987 to 1992. Cone signed south panel of the jumbo baseball. Also included is a signature by famed Mets’ pitcher Dwight Gooden on the east panel of the ball. Gooden pitched for the Mets from 1984 to 1994 and was a four-time All-Star selection, a two-time MLB strikeout leader, won the Triple Crown in 1986, led the MLB in ERA and wins in 1985, and won the World Series with the Mets in 1986. Famed Mets slugger Darryl Strawberry, the 1983 NL Rookie of the Year, played eight seasons with the Mets where he was the NL home run leader in 1988, won the World Series with the Mets in 1986, and was selected to seven All-Star Games while playing for the Mets. Mets pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre signed the north panel of the baseball. Other signatures include Frank Viola, Howard Johnson, Jeff Innis, Mike Cubbage, Gregg Jeffries, Keith Miller, John Franco, Tim Teufel and others.
