The Kansas City Chiefs made two huge acquisitions to their team when they signed future Hall of Famers Joe Montana and Marcus Allen before the start of the 1993 season. Montana led the San Francisco 49ers to four Super Bowl titles while earning three Super Bowl MVP honors and two NFL MVP Awards before bringing hope to a Chiefs team that had not won Super Bowl since 1970. Allen departed from the Los Angeles Raiders where the elusive 1982 NFL Rookie of the Year and 1985 NLF MVP running back was a five-time Pro-Bowl selection and won Super Bowl XVIII and was named Super Bowl MVP. The addition of Montana and Allen helped propel the Chiefs to win the AFC West and go on to The AFC Championship Game where they lost to the Buffalo Bills, 30-13. Presented here are a lot of two Chiefs jerseys signed by Hall of Famers and former Chiefs players Joe Montana and Marcus Allen.
The first item in this presented lot is a Kansas City Chiefs jersey signed by Montana. Montana led the Chiefs to two come-from-behind wins during the playoffs and passed for 2,144 yards and 13 touchdowns and earned his last Pro Bowl selection. The red mesh pullover jersey with screen-printed gold and white stripes on the sleeves features the number “19” on the chest, shoulders, and back of the jersey in white-on-gold tackle twill. An NFL equipment shield is affixed to the front collar of the jersey. An NFL Pro Line Authentic Kansas City Chiefs Reebok manufacturing tag is located on the jersey’s front left tail. Two embroidered Reebok logos in white appear on each sleeve of the jersey. A Reebok “DESIGNED FOR THE SERIOUS ATHLETE” size “56” manufacturing tag with a size “XXL” flag is located on the inside collar of the jersey. Reebok Team Sports and NFL ON-FIELD retail tags are attached to the jersey’s left sleeve. “MONTANA” appears across the back of the jersey in white-on-gold tackle twill on a matching red nameplate. Montana signed the number “1” on the back of the jersey with a blue marker. The jersey is in excellent condition and the signature is bold and bright. The signed Chiefs jersey comes with a COA from Steiner Sports.
The second item is a Kansas City Chiefs jersey signed by Hall of Famer Marcus Allen. Allen rushed for 764 yards and 12 touchdowns during a season that saw Allen earn the last of is six Pro Bowl selections. The presented jersey is a red mesh with gold and white screen-printed stripes on the sleeves Chiefs jersey. The number “32” appears on the chest, back, and shoulders of the jersey in white-on-gold tackle twill. An NFL equipment shield is affixed to the front collar of the jersey. An NFL Pro Line Kansas City Chiefs Reebok Authentic manufacturing tag appears on the jersey’s left front tail. A Reebok “DESIGNED FOR THE SERIOUS ATHLETE” size “44” manufacturing tag with a size “L” flag is located on the inside collar of the jersey. Two embroidered Reebok logos in white appear on the sleeves of the jersey. “ALLEN” appears across the back of the jersey in white-on-gold tackle twill on a matching red nameplate. Allen signed the number “2” on the back of the jersey with a black marker. The signature is bold and the jersey is in excellent condition. The signed Chiefs jersey comes with a COA from Steiner Sports.
