Given the nickname “King James” by a local newspaper when he was in high school, LeBron James was selected first overall in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. James would mark the beginning of his reign in the NBA by being named the 2003 Rookie of the Year, averaging 20.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game. This presented 16 x 24-inch photo is from 2003 and depicts “King James” in maroon and black sitting regally in a golden throne flanked by three majestic lions set against an elegant maroon velvet background. “Nike” and the iconic Nike “Swoosh” logo are located in white on the top right corner of the photo. James signed and inscribed “King James” with a silver metallic paint pen on the left corner of the photograph.
