Presented here are a pair of size 13 Nike Air Jordan III retro sneakers signed by the greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan. The original Air Jordan III’s were designed by noted sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield who designed the original and many other versions of the Air Jordan sneaker line and came at the perfect time as Jordan was ready to leave Nike. The shoes quickly became a favorite of Jordan’s and he wore them when he won the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest. The sneakers are widely remembered for the humorous ads featuring Spike Lee as Mars Blackmon, the character he played in the film “She’s Gotta Have It” and featured the now iconic line, “It’s gotta be the shoes.” The sneakers are noted for being the first Jordan’s to have the new “JUMPMAN” logo, a visible air unit on the heel, and elephant print trim. The presented sneakers feature a black, white, and red colorway with elephant print trim. The “JUMPMAN” logo is embroidered in red on the gray tongue of each sneaker. Nike size “13” manufacturing tags appear on the inside tongue of each sneaker. The sneaker features the iconic Nike “JUMPMAN” logo and “AIR” in white plastic on the back of each heel. The gray, white, and red soles feature are labeled “JORDAN” in red on the back sole. Jordan signed the toe box on the right sneaker with a silver metallic paint pen. The sneakers are in pristine condition and the signature is bold and features no bleeding. The original box features a black box top with the Nike “JUMPMAN” in red and “AIR” on the sides and top of the box. The signed Air Jordan III retro sneakers come with a COA from Upper Deck Authenticated (UAS 03267).
