The Raptors took a major leap when they traded away longtime fan-favorite and franchise cornerstone DeMar DeRozan for Kawhi Leonard prior to the 2018-19 season. Though the move was deemed to be incredibly risky at the time, it wound up being the most important one the Raptors ever made. Leonard had an extraordinary season with Toronto, capped off by leading the franchise to its first title ever and winning Finals MVP in the process.
As Leonard spent only that one season in Toronto, cards featuring him in his Raptors uniform will be scarce over time and this is undoubtedly one of the best of them. From the remarkable 2018-19 Flawless Basketball set and graded GEM MINT 9.5 by BGS, this card is number 07 of only 20 base cards printed of Leonard in the set and features an actual diamond embedded in it, a signature of Flawless.
