Founded by statistics professor James Beckett in 1984, Beckett Publications published price guides for sports cards, publishing price guides for baseball, basketball, football, and hockey cards. This presented item is an 8 x 11-inch Beckett Basketball Monthly featuring Hall of Famer Michael Jordan. The February 1996 issue with a retail price of $3.50 features an image of Jordan in a black with red pinstripes Chicago Bulls jersey charging the net with an image of his card inset on the left corner of the cover. “BECKETT BASKETBALL MONTHLY” is labeled in red and yellow on the top of the magazine. The inside of the magazine features price guides for basketball trading cards, articles about the NBA and NBA stars, and advertisements. The six-time NBA Finals champion and six-time NBA Finals MVP Jordan signed the cover of the magazine with a black marker. The signature is bold and clean and the magazine features some evidence of cornering and edging along the spine. The February 1996 copy of Beckett Basketball Monthly signed by Jordan comes with an LOA from Beckett Authentication.
