The Enola Gay dropped the atomic bomb which devastated the city of Hiroshima, essentially ending World War II. Theodore J "Dutch" Van Kirk, was the navigator of that plane, which dropped its single payload on August 6, 1945. This pure white OML Selig ball has been signed and inscribed to the left of the sweet spot, running into the prime area. It reads "Theoodore J. 'Dutch' Van Kirk Navigator - Enola Gay, Hiroshima - 6 Aug 1945" very boldly in thin black marker. The south panel reads "30,600 feet over Hiroshima. This bombing ended WWII and stopped the killing." This signed ball is poignant remembrance of the horrors of war, but the knowledge such wars eventually do end. COA from James Spence Authentication, cert number F08305.
